Encinal's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Berkeley Yellowjackets 5-4. The Jets haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cameron Tran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Tamyrah Jamison was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jazzy Alcantar, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Encinal's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Berkeley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Encinal will venture away from home to take on St. Helena at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Helena is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Berkeley, they will head out to square off against Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Eden also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 11.7 runs per game.
