Basketball Recap: Cross Keys Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Cross Keys won the last time they faced Cottage and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cross Keys Phoenix came out on top against the Cottage Cougars by a score of 41-32.

Cottage's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Workman, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Workman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Pressnall, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Cross Keys is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points per game. As for Cottage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Cross Keys will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Mary's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Cottage, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
