Basketball Recap: Motley County Matadors vs. Valley Patriots

Motley County lost against Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Motley County Matadors were dealt an 82-29 loss at the hands of the Valley Patriots. The contest marked the Matadors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Corbin Taylor out in front who went 8 for 10 on his way to 17 points along with eight boards and three steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Meyer, who went 8 of 13 en route to 21 points.

Motley County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Valley, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 27-2.

Motley County will square off against Paducah at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Paducah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Motley County likes a good challenge. As for Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Guthrie at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
