Softball Recap: Calumet New Tech Takes a Loss

Calumet New Tech extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They came up short against the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles, falling 30-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Lake Station Edison's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Calumet New Tech: they've now won nine in a row.

For Lake Station Edison's part, Aaliyah Alderson was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with nine stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Alderson has brought in this season. Alexis Vaughan was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

While Calumet New Tech had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
