Crisp County takes loss despite strong efforts from Jaylon Cooper and Zakariyya Dwight

Recap: Crisp County Cougars vs. Dougherty Trojans

The Crisp County Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 57-50 to Dougherty. Crisp County has struggled against Dougherty recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Zakariyya Dwight and Jaylon Cooper certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Dwight scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Cooper scored 14 points along with five assists. Cameron Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Leading Dougherty to victory were Kaleke Singletary-Jinks and Markelle Jones. Singletary-Jinks scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Jones scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jaion Burns, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Crisp County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Dougherty, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
