Basketball Recap: Omaha Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Omaha Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Brownell Talbot Raiders, falling 59-32. The Eagles lost against the Raiders in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 46-44 score last time.

Despite the loss, Omaha Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nathan Friesen posted nine points and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Friesen. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Blum, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Leading Brownell Talbot to victory were Perry Anderson and John Schinzel. Anderson went 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points, while Schinzel went 6 for 7 en route to 18 points. Rocco Vigneri was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Omaha Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Brownell Talbot, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Omaha Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Whiting), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Brownell Talbot has already played their next game, a 71-34 loss against Fort Calhoun on the 20th.
