Volleyball Recap: Defiance Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Defiance lost against Shawnee back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Indians. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Defiance ultimately came up short, they really made Shawnee work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-20, 19-25, 26-24.

Isabella Rowlison paced Defiance's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rowlison got some help from Keira Kohn and her 13 assists. Finally, Khloe Siler kept Defiance's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Shawnee found their leader in sophomore Gabi Gilles, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Gilles. Belle Caris also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Defiance's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Shawnee, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Defiance has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Bryan on the 22nd. As for Shawnee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Kenton on the 22nd.
