Recap: Sandwich Indians vs. St. Bede Bruins
On Tuesday, Sandwich had to suffer through a rough 55-26 loss at the hands of St. Bede. While losing is never fun, Sandwich can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while St. Bede is ranked 198th).
It was another big night for Ali Bosnich, who scored 18 points for St. Bede. Another player making a difference was Lily Bosnich, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Sandwich bumped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for St. Bede, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Sandwich and Annawan will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at. St. Bede will finish 2023 at home by hosting Newark at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
