Baseball Game Preview: West Point Dragons vs. Valley Vista Monsoon

For the second straight game, West Point will face off against Valley Vista. The Dragons will take on the Monsoon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Point is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, West Point came up short against Valley Vista and fell 8-3.

For Valley Vista's part, Braden Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Johnson posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elias Garza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5. Rylie Hanson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Valley Vista's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1.
