Recap: Josey Eagles vs. Hephzibah Rebels
This season hasn't been kind to the Josey Eagles, who are still winless after their seventh game. Their rough 69-46 defeat to Hephzibah on Thursday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Josey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Hephzibah is ranked 160th).
It was another big night for Traeon Brown, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 30 rebounds for Hephzibah. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Martavious Williams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Josey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hephzibah, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Laney the next time they take the court. Hephzibah will head out to face Laney at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Josey will host them at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
