Volleyball Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Comes Up Short

Lawrence-Nelson came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Elm Creek Buffaloes, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Brynn Harrison paced Lawrence-Nelson's offense, picking up seven kills. Harrison got some help from Maddy Laughlin and her seven assists. Kara Peters controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Reece Steiner was a one-woman wrecking crew For Elm Creek. as she had 24 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Steiner has posted over her last eight matches.

Lawrence-Nelson has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Elm Creek, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Lawrence-Nelson has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against McCool Junction on the 2nd. As for Elm Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Pleasanton on the 2nd.
