Basketball Game Preview: Pine Ridge Thorpes vs. Hot Springs Bison

The Pine Ridge Thorpes will face off against the Hot Springs Bison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Pine Ridge was beaten by Lakota Tech 78-33. The Thorpes have struggled against the Tatanka recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Hot Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-24 defeat at the hands of Bennett County. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Warriors are ranked 30th).

Hot Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Pine Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Everything came up roses for Pine Ridge against Hot Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2016, as the team secured a 78-24 win. Does Pine Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hot Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
