Volleyball Game Preview: O'Neill Eagles vs. Madison Dragons

After both having extra time off, the O'Neill Eagles and the Madison Dragons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

O'Neill lost 3-0 to Cedar Catholic on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost six in a row.

While O'Neill was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Madison came up short against Schuyler on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22.

O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-25.

O'Neill was able to grind out a solid victory over Madison when the teams last played back in October of 2016, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
