Baseball Recap: Annawan-Wethersfield's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Annawan-Wethersfield dropped their record down to 13-9 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Morrison Mustangs. The game marked the first time this season in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

As for Morrison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.

For Morrison's part, not much got past Carson White, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep Annawan-Wethersfield off the board.

On the hitting side, Koltin Swaim was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Annawan-Wethersfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] on the 3rd. As for Morrison, they will host Ashton-Franklin Center at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
