Baseball Recap: Cheney Tech Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Cheney Tech barely beat Goodwin RVT the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chargers put the hurt on the Gladiators with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

Morgan Salkeld was incredible, going 1-for-3 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Mendez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Cheney Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Goodwin RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Cheney Tech will host Ellis RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Goodwin RVT, they will take on New Britain at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
