Basketball Recap: Page Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ganado

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Page). They blew past the Ganado Hornets 73-33 on Saturday. Given the Sand Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Hornets are ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Page to victory were Joseph Benally and Tyree Stingley. Benally dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 steals, while Stingley dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten boards, and ten steals. What's more, Benally also racked up seven assists, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Maximus Reid, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and eight assists.

Despite the loss, Ganado still got an impressive performance from Kyren Todechine, who posted six points.

The win was the third in a row for Page, bringing their record for this year to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Ganado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Page and Ganado will both be playing Chinle the next time they take the court. Page will host Chinle at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025, while Ganado will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
