Softball Recap: Darlington Has No Trouble Against Lower Richland

Darlington's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets as Darlington made off with a 16-0 victory. The match marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.

Kee Key Bacote was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jaylee Carter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Darlington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Darlington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Lower Richland's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Darlington beat Lower Richland by a score of 19-1 later that day.
