Baseball Game Preview: Grosse Pointe North Norsemen vs. Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Grosse Pointe North will face off against Grosse Pointe South. The Norsemen will square off against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Grosse Pointe North's offense. They lost 7-0 to Grosse Pointe South on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Norsemen's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Grosse Pointe South's part, the result came thanks to Jack Danielewicz's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. Danielewicz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dane Lezotte was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten games. Another player making a difference was Adam Czarnik, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Grosse Pointe South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grosse Pointe North only posted a batting average of .125.

Grosse Pointe North's loss dropped their record down to 6-21-1. As for Grosse Pointe South, their record is now 25-5.
