Softball Game Preview: Elgin Wildcats vs. Bruceville-Eddy Eagles

The Elgin Wildcats will take on the Bruceville-Eddy Eagles in a tournament on Saturday. Bruceville-Eddy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Elgin, who comes in off a win.

Elgin proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Rockdale. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bruceville-Eddy's offense. They lost 12-0 to McGregor on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bruceville-Eddy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Elgin, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
