Football Recap: St. Joseph Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, St. Joseph rose to the challenge on Sunday. They walked away with a 17-10 win over the Hand Tigers. The victory was familiar territory for the Cadets who have now won four games in a row.

The critical scores for St. Joseph came from Jermaine Hatchett Jr. and Tyrell Wright Jr..

St. Joseph didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hatchett Jr., Wright Jr., Jake Rios, and Lameik Black Jr picked up one apiece. The dominant performance also gave Hatchett Jr. a new career-high in total tackles (14). Another thorn in Hand's side was Will Zaccagnino, who made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Hand, with the defeat, they broke their 23-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-1.

St. Joseph wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-20 victory against Brookfield on the 14th. Hand does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
