Baseball Recap: Atkins Comes Up Short

If Atkins was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Eastern Guilford last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Camels fell just short of the Salem Baptist Christian Vikings by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Camels of the 11-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Atkins' loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Salem Baptist Christian, their record is now 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atkins will face off against Salisbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Salem Baptist Christian and Statesville Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
