Soccer Recap: Clay Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Clay took on Whiteoak on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Clay of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Clay now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Whiteoak, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, Clay will challenge Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenwood will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Clay surely won't give up without a fight. As for Whiteoak, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fayetteville-Perry at 6:45 p.m. on September 10.
