Softball Game Preview: Dennis-Yarmouth Regional Dolphins vs. Nauset Regional Warriors

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional has gone 8-2 against Nauset Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Dolphins will take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

On Monday, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional got the win against St. John Paul II by a conclusive 18-5. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brooke Chicoine was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Charleigh Hicks, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Nauset Regional made easy work of Sturgis East on Friday and carried off a 14-2 victory. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly 12 runs.

Nauset Regional has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Dennis-Yarmouth Regional, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional suffered a grim 28-10 defeat to Nauset Regional in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Dolphins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
