Softball Recap: Auburn Bulldogs vs. Mercy Monarchs
Auburn was the 1-0 winner over Mercy when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Auburn Bulldogs fell 9-4 to the Mercy Monarchs on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Auburn saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gretchen Paschal, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Paschal has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Mercy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-16.
Auburn will welcome Syracuse on Thursday. Auburn is facing Syracuse at the right time seeing as Syracuse is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Mercy, they are taking a road trip to take on Skutt Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
