On Tuesday Pope John Paul II's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spring-Ford Rams, sneaking past 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for Pope John Paul II as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Carson Glose made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Glose was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Chase Frantz was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Sam Buckley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pope John Paul II pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spring-Ford, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pope John Paul II will take on rival Boyertown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Spring-Ford is set to challenge their familiar foe Phoenixville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.6, the Phantoms 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
