The Rio Hondo Prep Kares will challenge the La Salle Lancers at 9:30  a.m.  on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rio Hondo Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mayfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's   match. The Kares put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp  9-3 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Kares sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

 BRYCE JOHNSON made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off   six  hits. JOHNSON was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 2-for-2. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  MADISON BURL was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.  EVONNY ORTEGA was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, La Salle waltzed into their game  on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by  a  12-2 margin over the Pacers.
Like Rio Hondo Prep, La Salle also got a great game from a two-way player:  Barbie Solis. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Solis has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Layla Loya was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  doubles and four  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Aria Davis, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 La Salle's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-4. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rio Hondo Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.5  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like La Salle struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 2.9  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
