Soccer Recap: Morenci Takes a Loss

Morenci and Santa Cruz Valley combined for 16 shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. The Morenci Wildcats lost 4-1 to the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Armando Lopez Rivera, who's now up to 13 this season.

Morenci has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six games. As for Santa Cruz Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-8.

As of now, neither Morenci nor Santa Cruz Valley have any future games scheduled.
