Basketball Game Preview: Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue vs. Maxwell Bears

Roy/Mosquero has won five straight games at home, while Maxwell has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Roy/Mosquero Blue/Lady Blue will welcome the Maxwell Bears at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Roy/Mosquero is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 73-39 win over Wagon Mound. The Blue/Lady Blue have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Maxwell won against New Mexico School for the Deaf on Thursday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Maxwell came out on top in a nail-biter against Springer, sneaking past 71-68. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since December 19, 2024.

Roy/Mosquero has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Maxwell, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.

Roy/Mosquero was able to grind out a solid victory over Maxwell when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 40-30. Does Roy/Mosquero have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maxwell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
