Basketball Recap: Thomas Vickery's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Myers Park over Northside Christian

If Myers Park was riding high fresh off their 95-66 takedown of Mallard Creek last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Myers Park took a 71-55 bruising from Northside Christian on Friday. The contest marked Myers Park's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Myers Park's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Vickery, who posted 20 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Rucker Jamison, who scored 12 points and seven rebounds.

Northside Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was DOMINICK WALSH out in front who earned 11 points along with seven assists and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, WALSH now owns an excellent 46.9% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Ahlers, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Myers Park now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Northside Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Myers Park has already played their next matchup, a 72-65 victory against Laney on the 6th. As for Northside Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-47 loss against Harrells Christian Academy on the 6th.
