Softball Recap: Mcnairy Central's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

McNairy Central posted their closest win since April 19, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Milan Bulldogs 4-2. The victory was just business as usual for the Bobcats, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Kenli Bingham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Bailee Shelton was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanley Steele, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

McNairy Central's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Milan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, McNairy Central will face off against Itawamba Agricultural at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Itawamba Agricultural will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something McNairy Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Milan, they will square off against Clarksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Milan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Clarksburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
