Football Recap: Fairfield Prep Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fairfield Prep couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 31-10 to the Greenwich Cardinals on Monday. The Jesuits were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the three contests prior), but the Cardinals' defense proved too tough.

Robert Manning threw for 123 yards and one TD. Colin Delaney was his top target, picking up 104 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Vincent Lombardo rushed for 63 yards on only eight carries.

Leading Greenwich to victory were Hector Lopez and Phil Tarantino. Lopez rushed for 152 yards and a pair of scores, while Tarantino rushed for 104 yards on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Lopez has posted since back in October.

Fairfield Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Greenwich, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Fairfield Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenwich, they have already played their next matchup, a 45-6 victory against Southington on the 13th.
