Baseball Recap: Bell Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Bell entered their tilt with Fort White on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Indians back in February, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Chance Mandarino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Bell let RJ Leffler and Jackson Philman run wild. Leffler went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Philman scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Philman has become a key player for Bell: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean Glass, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bell's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Fort White, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.

Bell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-5 win against Hamilton County on the 14th. As for Fort White, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-2 loss against Chiefland on the 13th.
