Baseball Recap: Fairview Yellowjackets vs. Cherokee Chiefs        
        
		
            
 After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Elgin, Fairview was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They came out on top against the Cherokee Chiefs by a score of  6-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fairview also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2023.
  Aiden Nightingale made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Nightingale was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Reed Martens was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 On Cherokee's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zack Hellar, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Fairview's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-11. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs per game. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will  face off against Cashion at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cashion will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  victory, something Fairview surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cherokee, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Ringwood at 5:30  p.m.
