Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Park City Miners

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against Park City. The Huskies will host the Miners at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillcrest has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 12 straight losses, while Park City will come in with 12 straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hillcrest's offense. They lost 11-0 to Park City on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by exactly 11 runs.

For Park City's part, they got a massive performance out of Jakob DeVries, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI DeVries has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron Nester, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

DeVries wasn't the only one making solid contact: Park City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive contests.

Park City pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.
