Football Game Preview: Dresden Lions vs. Greenfield Yellowjackets

The Dresden Lions will square off against the Greenfield Yellowjackets on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dresden comes in on five and Greenfield on three.

Dresden's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They strolled past McEwen with points to spare, taking the game 14-0.

Meanwhile, Greenfield narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Humboldt 50-48.

Dresden better keep an eye on Easton Sullivan. He was instrumental in Greenfield's win, rushing for 225 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Sullivan is now averaging an impressive 113.9 rushing yards per game. Westin Porter was another key player, gaining 104 total yards and two touchdowns.

Greenfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Greenfield's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Carter Kelley with two sacks. He has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last five times he's played.

Dresden's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Greenfield, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Dresden took their victory against Greenfield in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 38-13 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
