Manitou Springs entered their tilt with La Junta on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the La Junta Tigers by a score of 58-50. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Tigers are ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manitou Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ashur Lavigne, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Reed, who earned 15 points.

La Junta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alfred Furtado, who scored eight points and five assists. Monze Alvidrez was another key player, going 6 of 8 en route to 15 points.

Manitou Springs has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for La Junta, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Manitou Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-46 victory against Colorado Springs Christian on the 5th. As for La Junta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-44 win against Rye on the 5th.
