Volleyball Recap: Westminster Academy Comes Up Short

Westminster Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Chaminade-Madonna. Westminster Academy was not able to make up for their defeat to Chaminade-Madonna from their previous meeting back in September of 2022.

Westminster Academy might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Chaminade-Madonna: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 27-25.

Zoe Burton paced Westminster Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Burton got some help from Maddie Rogacki and her 16 assists. Allayah Hayden controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Chaminade-Madonna to victory were Kayla Bermudez and Haley Griffin. Bermudez had eight digs, while Griffin had five aces. Those five aces gave Griffin a new career-high.

Westminster Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Chaminade-Madonna, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-8.

Westminster Academy has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Cooper City on the 20th. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Miami Country Day on the 20th.
