Basketball Game Preview: Hondo Owls vs. Poteet Aggies

The Hondo Owls will square off against the Poteet Aggies at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Hondo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Poteet likes a good challenge.

Hondo is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Dilley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hondo blew Dilley out of the water with a 68-36 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Owls had established a 26 point advantage.

Meanwhile, Poteet unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 89-67 to Lytle. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Aggies still had to take the loss.

Hondo has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-16 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Poteet, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.
