Basketball Recap: South Fremont Falls Short of Bear Lake in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Fremont can now relate to. They came up short against the Bear Lake Bears on Friday, falling 65-43. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

South Fremont lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brianne Bailey, who to rack up 20 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hayden Larson, who en route to 12 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, South Fremont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

South Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Bear Lake, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-3.

South Fremont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-33 defeat against Timberlake on the 22nd. As for Bear Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-41 loss against Sugar-Salem on the 22nd.
