Basketball Recap: Springfield Southeast Comes Up Short

Springfield Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by the Belleville West Maroons 58-22. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Maroons are ranked 166th).

Springfield Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Belleville West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield Southeast will host Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belleville West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
