Basketball Game Preview: Watkins Mill Wolverines vs. Wheaton Knights

The Watkins Mill Wolverines will challenge the Wheaton Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Watkins Mill came up short against Damascus and fell 68-57. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Wheaton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 64-57 to Blair.

Watkins Mill's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for Wheaton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Watkins Mill couldn't quite finish off Wheaton when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 56-53. Can Watkins Mill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
