With a playoff win on the line, Hicks rose to the challenge on Thursday. They escaped with a win against the Holden Rockets by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Hicks' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaydence Hickman led the charge by shooting 53% from the field en route to 25 points and five steals. Hickman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Katie-Grace Quinn was another key player, going 7-for-14 to rack up 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks.

Hicks was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2025.

Hicks' win bumped their record up to 13-22. As for Holden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-19.

Coming up, Hicks will challenge Negreet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Holden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
