Basketball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

Johnstown-Monroe lost to Watkins Memorial back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies came out on top against the Watkins Memorial Warriors by a score of 53-44. Given the Johnnies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Warriors are ranked 568th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnstown-Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Watkins Memorial, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnstown-Monroe will square off against Northridge at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Watkins Memorial, they will face off against Licking Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
