Soccer Game Preview: Monterey Trail vs. Cosumnes Oaks

Monterey Trail is 0-4 against Cosumnes Oaks since November of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Monterey Trail Mustangs will face off against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Monterey Trail's offense. They came up short against Franklin on Wednesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Wildcats are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Laguna Creek.

Monterey Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
