Softball Recap: Ledyard Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

11 must be Ledyard's lucky number: they beat Guilford with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Colonels beat the Grizzlies by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-9. The win was nothing new for the Colonels as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ledyard pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Guilford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Ledyard will challenge Ellington on Friday. Guilford will be paying especially close attention to the Colonels' matchup: after the Colonels face off against Woodstock Academy, they'll take on Guilford again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
