Volleyball Game Preview: Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience Owls vs. Alton Redbirds

Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience hasn't had much luck against Alton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Owls will be playing at home against the Redbirds at 5:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience has three straight wins, Alton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience took on Orchard Farm on Thursday. The Owls sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Eagles.

Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Alton didn't have quite enough to beat Edwardsville on Thursday and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Alton sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-15, 19-25, 25-9.

Alton's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience, the win got them back to even at 10-10-1.
