Football Recap: Vista del Lago Takes a Loss

Vista del Lago extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They came up short against the Rio Americano Raiders, falling 28-8. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Although Vista del Lago took the loss, they still got scores from Christian Chavez and Cael Rens.

As for Rio Americano, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Rio Americano had a senior duo take command as Devin Pointes gained 108 total yards and two touchdowns and Ryder Trantham threw for 192 yards and two TDs. Pointes showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 62 yards.

Vista del Lago has already played their next matchup, a 50-22 win against Christian Brothers on the 26th. As for Rio Americano, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-7 loss against Woodcreek on the 26th.
