Basketball Recap: Bluegrass Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Bluegrass took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against CSTHEA, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bluegrass Blazers came out on top in a nail-biter against the CSTHEA Patriots on Saturday, sneaking past 49-47. Winning may never get old, but the Blazers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

CSTHEA's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Swanson, who made all 8 shots he took racking up 18 points. Swanson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ivan Huffman, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Bluegrass' win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for CSTHEA, they moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Bluegrass will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rocket City at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for CSTHEA, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-45 victory against Bradley Knights on the 9th.
