Basketball Recap: Grand Traverse Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Grand Traverse Academy had lost four straight headed into Tuesday's game, but Coby Bilderback didn't let it get to five. The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 victory over the Traverse City HomeSchool Bulldogs on Tuesday thanks in part to Bilderback, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Dix, who posted four points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Grand Traverse Academy picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Traverse City HomeSchool, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Traverse Academy will challenge Walkerville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Traverse City HomeSchool, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Boyne Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Traverse City HomeSchool is facing Boyne Falls at the right time seeing as Boyne Falls is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
