Basketball Recap: Randolph Comes Up Short

Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southwest Dragons. The Ro-Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Paris Alaquinez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds for Southwest. The dominant performance also gave Alaquinez a new career-high in assists (four).

Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Southwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16.

Randolph wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 32-26 victory against Blanco on the 28th. As for Southwest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-51 win against Lutheran on the 28th.
